Drone CheckUp
Terms of Use
Effective: 15 October 2026
These terms apply to the Drone CheckUp app and this website, both made by HandySoft Team (“we”). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
A diagnostic aid, not a guarantee of safety
Drone CheckUp shows data reported by your flight controller and gives hints based on it. You, the pilot, are always responsible for the condition of your aircraft, for the decision to fly and for every change you make to its settings. A check that shows no problems does not mean the aircraft is safe to fly. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions and the aviation laws and rules of your country, and never fly over people or where it is not allowed.
The app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, under these terms and the terms of the store you got it from. You may not resell the app, remove its notices, or use it to break the law. Apps downloaded from the Apple App Store are also governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement; where it conflicts with these terms, Apple's agreement applies to your use on Apple devices.
AI assistant
Answers of the AI assistant are produced automatically by a language model and can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. They are not professional advice. Check them against the official documentation of your firmware before changing settings or flying. Sources shown with an answer are given so you can check them yourself.
Optional cloud AI models
If you turn on a cloud model (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Mistral) with your own API key, your device talks to that provider directly. Your use of it is governed by the provider's terms and privacy policy, and you pay the provider for the requests. We are not responsible for those services. What is sent is described in the Privacy Policy.
Third-party content and services
- Documentation pack. The searchable documentation comes from the ArduPilot, Betaflight and iNav projects and their forums. It remains under the licences of its authors (some of it, such as ArduPilot Discourse posts, only for non-commercial use, CC BY-NC-SA). Each answer links to its sources.
- AI models are downloaded from Hugging Face and are subject to their own licences.
- Maps are © OpenStreetMap contributors.
- Google Drive backups are subject to Google's terms.
Betaflight, iNav, ArduPilot and other names are the property of their owners; Drone CheckUp is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
Your data
Your sessions, logs and settings are stored on your device and belong to you. You are responsible for keeping backups of the data that matters to you. How the app handles data is explained in the Privacy Policy.
Purchases
The app is currently free. If paid features are offered in the future, they will be sold only through the App Store or Google Play, under the payment, renewal and refund rules of that store, and described in the app before you buy.
No warranty
The app and the website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and uninterrupted operation, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damage to aircraft, property or persons, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of the app, its readings, its hints or AI answers. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Changes and ending
We may update the app and these terms. The new version will be published on this page with a new effective date; continuing to use the app means you accept it. You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it.
